The Joint Board Of Trustees of the Health and Welfare Pension Fund met May 25, 2017.  Business Manager, Steve Menser brought to their attention the on-going problem of unfilled journeyman calls.  He asked the Board to approve retirees to return to work on full scale journeyman wireman calls in addition to market recovery calls.

If interested in returning to work, you will need to come into the hall to sign the book.  Please let Keith know at that time you are a retiree as there will be a paper you need to sign when you accept a call.  This paper is so we can notify the benefits department that you are returning to work and it will not affect your pension.

Official Mission Statement

The IBEW RENEW Chapter is dedicated to providing young union members with training and experience in organizing and leading membership activities and initiatives.

The Chapter's activities will be designed to promote participation in local union and community activities and to foster pride, integrity, and solidarity amongst local union members. The training and experience provided by planning and administrating the IBEW 481 RENEW Chapter activities is intended to propel the Chapter's members into becoming the next generation of leaders for IBEW Local Union 481.

IBEW 481 RENEW has officially been established.  After months of discussing and planning, it is off and running.  The first meeting was held in January, and the officers of RENEW were elected.  President- Kendrick Carpenter, Vice President- Sean Eagan, Recording Secretary- Bobby Tekulve, and Treasurer- Antwuan Armstead.

In March, the first ever family bowling event was held and the participation was great.  It was good to see all the members there who want to be active and help promote IBEW 481.   Stay tuned for what is next to come.

If you are interested to learn more about RENEW and want to get involved, there are monthly meetings at the Hall.  Mark the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. and come out and get informed and involved.
