APPRENTICESHIP
Recognized as one of the nation’s premier training centers for the union construction industry, the Electrical Training Institute (ETI) is a joint venture of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 481 and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). This advanced apprenticeship program offers the opportunity to earn excellent wages and benefits while learning the necessary skills for a challenging and rewarding career in the Union electrical construction industry.

ETI offers two apprenticeship programs: the 5-year Electrician Program and the 3-year Telecommunications Program. For each program, apprentices will attend school for at least 16 hours per month while also earning a weekly paycheck working on a job site for a signatory contractor. 

All apprentices receive an Applied Science Associate's Degree from Ivy Tech Community College after completing the apprenticeship and a minimum of four general education classes at NO COST TO YOU other than semester book fees.

Electrician Apprenticeship
5 Year Program

Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical systems to keep homes, businesses, and industrial facilities operating safely and efficiently. Their work includes building electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring all installations meet safety codes and standards.

Telecommunications Apprenticeship
3 Year Program

Telecommunication technicians support modern communication networks by installing, maintaining and troubleshooting systems that keep people and businesses connected. Their work includes installing fiber-optic, coaxial, and Ethernet cabling; pulling and terminating cables; connecting equipment; and testing systems to ensure reliable performance.
